Carol's Roast

Carol Burum's roast recipe that makes its own gravy.

Ingredients

  • 1 chuck roast
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • salt and pepper

Directions

  1. Wash the roast and drain. Place in a large roasting pan (turkey roaster) and season with salt and pepper. Pour cream of mushroom soup over the roast. If your roasting pan doesn't have a VERY tight seal then use foil to create an airtight seal. This helps the roast stay moist and tender. Place in oven at 350° for about an hour then reduce temperature to 175° for 8-10 hours.
  2. Multiply the recipe to easily feed a large group.
