Hummus

a snack favorite that can be served with fresh vegetables, pita, or bread

Ingredients

  • 16 oz. garbanzo beans
  • 1/4 c. liquied from beans
  • 5 T. lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 T. Tahini sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • 2 T. olive oil

Directions

  1. Drain chickpeas and set aside liquid. Combine all ingredients including liquid that was set aside. Blend thoroughly for 3-5 minutes. Red chilies, cayenne, or red pepper powder can be added. Also a mint leaf can be blended into mixture.
